Last Friday, Pete Moulin pitched a 6 hit shutout and struck out 11 leading the Willimantic Ridges to a 2-0 victory over the Tri-County Twins. Brian Robinson drove in both runs with a 2 run double and late appearing diva, Chuck Sauer had 2 hits including a double for the Ridges. Lee Bailey pitched a complete game in a losing cause for the Twins and had an infield hit.

On Monday, The Willimantic Ridges blasted the Tri-County Twins 12-1 at Rec Park in Willimantic. Chuck Sauer pitched a 3 hit, 9 strikeout game in picking up the win. He also had two hits, making him 7-8 over the last 3 games. The Ridges Brian Robinson had 2 hits and 5 RBI’s and Shane Murphy added 2 hits and 3 runs. The Twin Peck pitched 4 innings in the loss and added a hit and scored his team’s only run.

The Glastonbury Pirates and Loco Perro Expos played to a 1-1 tie Monday evening; after 7 innings the umpires called the game due to darkness. Ben Fortin pitched as well as he could against the Pirates who have beaten the Expos twice already on the season. He went all 7 innings while giving up an unearned run in the final inning of play and struck out 4 while walking 1 and allowed 5 hits.

Also on Mon, Elmers won 5-2 over East Hartford. Justin Swiderski pitched a complete game for the Win with 11 K’s and Dan Krot led the offense with 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.

On Thursday, Elmers pounded the Twins 16-4. Nick Dinino hit a 2 run HR and Matt Morrison pitched 5 shutout innings for the win.

On Friday night the Plaza Azteca Indians edged the East Hartford Angels 3-2. Keith Echevarria hit a walkoff single in the bottom of the 7th with one out to break a 2-2 tie. It was the 8th straight win for the Indians. John Skinner got the victory and Chris Barsa had 2 hits for the Tribe. Sean Cormier was the tough luck losing pitcher but pitched well and also had a 2 run single to give the Angels a lead.
