After the fantastic 2020 season, the CTL hopes to keep the momentum going for another great season to come. Lots more updates and announcements coming soon, including the full schedule coming out this week, and the season opening with the Knights hosting the Aftershock at 8:15 Friday night at Muzzy.

Unfortunately we lost some teams from the 2020 season. The Glastonbury Pirates are no longer a team NAME in our league, but they are still here. The Pirates simply merged with the Fat Orange Cat Brewers. The team is made up of many of the core players from the Glastonbury team, and a lot of talented players from the Brewers team that won a CTL Championship in 2019. Both teams were losting players, and the Brewers were potentially losing a home field but had a great relationship with their Brewers Sponsor… so it was a good match. The New Britain Hurricanes NAME has been retired, but the team returns with most if not all their players from a very good team their first season. The Indian’s are still here, just rebranded now as the Rockies (which was part of the agreement in the 2020 Orioles/Indians merger). Beyond that we are very sad to announce 2 great teams from 2020 not returning. The Terryville Black Sox returned in 2021 to their longtime home, the TriState Baseball League. It was a pleasure having the Black Sox for the pandemic shortened 2020 season. They won the regular season and took the Indians to game 3 of the championship series only to have the Indians walk if off for a championship. We’ll miss the Black Sox, led by Dave Alarcon and Chris Ayer… but plan to keep in touch and work together in the future. Additionally we lost the Great Falls Gators for 2021. The team started by Willy Yahn and Jeremy Stiewing will not return to the league this year. Many of their player were players from around the TriState League (especially a handful from the Tri-Town Trojans), and many of them are returning to their original TriState teams. Also, a huge piece of that Gatorgang is absent this year, with Willy Yahn returning to MILB with the Orioles for the 2021 season. Best of luck to Willy and all the former Gators. A handful of that team is remaining in the league as members of the Elmer’s Angels (the team Willy Yahn almost initially played for in 2020 before starting his own team).

As previously mentioned we have the brand new expansion team, the road warrior Connecticut Orioles. The Orioles should be a strong team out of the gate as they are all young, with a lot of baseball experience, and a drive to improve and just find a place to play… however they can.

More announcements to come soon.
